It's all very well being able to strike a static pose in a costume, but like all the best haute couture, the costume must perform in motion.

There must be give in the fabric in the right places in the right directions to allow the dancer freedom of movement.

There must be security in the construction of the design and the fastenings that the costume stays in place throughout the dance.
